Hey, we're Leah & Matt

Hey there, we’re Leah & Matt. We’re so glad you’re here! You can find us chasing the sun and loving all things outdoors. We're happiest hiking, camping and having sunset picnics with charcuterie boards and wine. We started The Moving Morans to share our experiences and hopefully encourage like minded adventurers to get out there and experience all the beauty this world has to offer!

We’ve been fortunate enough to have lived in many “vacation destinations” and have traveled to even more. It’s our goal to help you experience each destination through the lens of a local, while sprinkling in some touristy excursions, because those are fun as well! So pack your comfy shoes, save your appetites, and let’s get lost along the way!

Our Story

We’re the “Moving Morans” because we’ve moved around…A LOT! We both grew up in Ohio, went to the same high school and even lived in the same neighborhood. Although we knew of each other growing up, it wasn’t until college that we met, fell in love and got married 6 years later in 2017! One year later, Leah came to Matt while living in Chicago (and dreading the upcoming winter) proposing that they quit their jobs, sell everything and chase after her dream of being a Travel Nurse. Matt of course said yes, found a remote job, and the rest is history!
So far we have called San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Hawaii (The Big Island & Maui) and Arizona home. After 4 years of amazing adventures, we decided it's time for a new way to travel the US - by VAN! We bought our van in May of 2021 and set out on the road to experience all of the US that we still haven't explored! We would love nothing more than for you to join us on our amazing journey!

Where to find us

As my mother would say every time I call her, “Where are you now?!” Currently we are based out of Cincinnati, Ohio, but we are digital nomads living out of our van, so we could be anywhere! Our goal for the fall season is to chase the changing colors wherever they may lead. You can find us anywhere between Vermont and Virginia!
